Paragliding Festival 2023 at Girisembung Kulonprogo: The Long-Awaited Reveal
The Kulonprogo Regency Government has organized the Festival Paragliding 2023, a thrilling event that will take place in the heart of Bukit Girisembung Kulonprogo, Kalurahan Banjarasri, Kapanewon Kalibawang. And then, this celebration marks an important step in making Girisembung a world-class paragliding destination.
The visionary leader of the Kulon Progo Tourism Office, Joko Mursito, looks back to 2021. He throwback to the moment when the seed planted for what has become spectacular. “We extended an invitation to all parties involved, fostering unanimous agreement to transform Girisembung Banjarasri into a haven for paragliding enthusiasts,” Joko adds.
Kulonprogo’s tourism infrastructure, with a concentration on paragliding attractions, will slated to undergo a major overhaul in the near future. For this reason, he says, we’re committed to seeing this area’s tourist industry grow at a healthy clip.

The Acting Regent of Kulonprogo, Ni Made Dwipanti Indrayanti, is a strong supporter of the paragliding festival because she sees it as a means to realize Kulonprogo’s full tourism potential. We fully endorse this endeavor. Furthermore, she is confident that in the near future, the Banjarasri area will be able to capitalize on paragliding’s enormous potential thanks to the prevailing winds of change.
